Tercion is drawn from the Spanish tercio — the infantry formation that redefined European warfare in the sixteenth century. A tercio fused pikemen, swordsmen, and early firearms into a single disciplined unit: a revolutionary integration of capability that made it, for more than a century, effectively unbeatable in the field.

The name also carries a literal meaning — "a third" — a reference to the disciplined structure of combining distinct capabilities into one cohesive force. We apply that same principle to advisory work: cybersecurity, intelligence, governance, and resilience are not separate services bolted together.
